Something stopped right now

Emergency IT support across South East Queensland

We pick up, work out what has actually stopped, and fix it remotely where we can. You do not need to be on a plan, and the phone is faster than any form on this page.

Getting to you fast

Most emergencies are resolved remotely, because most of them are a service outage, a permissions change or a machine that can be reached without anyone driving anywhere. When it does need hands on it, we tell you the window for your job when you call — a real one, for that day.

What we treat as an emergency

  • The whole office has no internet, or no email
  • A server will not boot, or is booting and failing
  • Files have been encrypted, or a ransom note has appeared
  • Someone has clicked something and entered a password
  • A machine holding the only copy of something important has died
  • A payment has gone to an account from an emailed invoice

What to do in the first ten minutes

  • Suspected security incident: unplug the affected machine from the network, but do not turn it off. Powering down destroys evidence that helps establish what was reached.
  • Stop all payments until any emailed bank details have been verified by phone on a number you already had.
  • Failing hardware: stop using it. A drive that is clicking gets worse every minute it stays powered.
  • Do not delete anything, including the email that started it.
  • Then call. Describing it once to someone technical is faster than typing it.

Questions about emergency callouts

How fast can someone actually get here?

It depends on where you are and what else is running that day, which is why we would rather tell you a real window on the call than publish a number that suits every job. Most emergencies never need a visit at all — they are resolved remotely — and most faults are resolved remotely before a vehicle would have arrived.

What counts as an emergency?

Anything that has stopped the business: no internet across the office, a server that will not boot, email down for everyone, a suspected ransomware event, or a machine that holds the only copy of something important and has just died. A single slow laptop is urgent to the person using it, but it is not the same call.

Do you help businesses that are not existing clients?

Yes. Emergency callouts do not require a plan. We will quote before we start wherever the situation allows it, and if the honest answer is that a specialist data recovery lab is the right call rather than us, we will tell you that instead of billing for hours.

What should we do before you arrive?

If you suspect a security incident: disconnect the affected machine from the network but do not turn it off, and stop anyone from paying an invoice that arrived by email until it has been verified by phone. If it is hardware: stop using the machine, particularly if it is making noise. Continuing to run a failing drive is how a recoverable problem becomes an unrecoverable one.

Is after-hours support available?

Complete plan clients have 24/7 support. Everyone else gets business-hours support with genuine after-hours emergencies handled at an agreed rate — a server down on a Sunday is not something we leave until Monday.

Not an emergency, but heading that way? Check your backup is actually working and learn how invoice fraud arrives — those two account for most of the calls on this page.
